Last weekend saw Manhattan officially move to the beach, with city dwellers making their way out to the Hamptons to celebrate the July 4^th weekend. The store was mobbed of Kurta’s, beachbags and Roberta Freymann summer cover-ups!

The weekend prior saw our fabulous Grand Opening Party for Roberta Freymann East Hampton. We were thrilled to have Tinsely Mortimer host our event, with special guests including Emma Snowdon-Jones & Allie Rizzo.

As if that wasn’t enough of a draw, guests sipped Caipirinha’s whilst listening to Brazilian beats being played by DJ of “the moment” Harley Viera-Newton … the perfect way to set up shop this summer!

India. So much to see and do, so little time in which to do it! LA. Setting up Trunk Shows, in Hollywood’s hidden haven!

Whilst the  design team and I continue our buying trip taking us from New Delhi to Jaipur in the intense heat & dust of a true Indian summer, the week at Roberta Freymann head quarters took on a slightly different twist …

Our Trunk Show team jetted off to LA’s Hollywood Hills to set up shop at the home of British former model turned Interior Designer to Hollywood’s elite, Amanda Masters

With what can only be described as a design master piece, the home of our host excelled in modern eclectic style, influenced from her globetrotting modeling days, perfectly fitting for my philosophy of chic global style.

With our two signature collections on display amidst the beautiful grounds of Amanda’s home, guests tried on sunhats, dresses, accessories and of course our signature kurta’s whilst sipping on champagne and grazing on mini gazpacho.

A luncheon in true Roberta style took place, overlooking the hills of the valley. The team did a fantastic job decking out the banquet table in exquisite style with our signature organza Amanda print table linens … an ode to our host!

Come late afternoon with the sun setting, the outdoor lounge area’s found the hosts children curled up in our distinctive hand block printed bedding …. A fairytale ending for Roberta Roller Rabbit.

Whilst we bake in the exceptionally hot temperatures that constitutes an Indian summer proper, our stores are ready for something of a cooling effect and a Spring clean is needed to make way for the change in seasons.

With Memorial day weekend behind us, the traditional trigger for Spring clearances begins. Now that summer has officially arrived, many New Yorkers including myself, take flight from the hustle and bustle of city life, preferring to enjoy the panoramic views of Long Island’s legendary Hamptons.

This year, Montauk provided the Roberta Freymann team with the perfect backdrop for our Summer photoshoot … the cascading hills that dive into the Atlantic ocean creates a breathtaking view and an idilyic scene in which to present this seasons collections.

I have long been known for designing the ideal beachcover up … perfect for weekends at the shore.

While most New Yorkers skip off to the Hamptons, adhering to traditions such as picnics on the beach and barbecuing, some prefer to own the city; enjoying the parks, outdoor art exhibits and plethora of events throughout the city.
